Chili's- too spicy, too good

Chili's. It is not Chillies or Chillis. It has only 1 "L". That is the exact difference it makes. Because this is different. It is an American restaurant that serves you a lot of American delicacies. Mexican too. I was invited to their hugee Indiranagar outlet to try out their special menu.

The dishes on the special menu are pretty similar to the normal menu but with the exception of a few changes in the dish that gives it a different and unique taste. Like mentioned, the place is huge and the management has used the space to provide enough privacy to each table. I also heard about the awesome Chili's Cookout that took place a couple of months back. When is it happening next? ;)

First up that was presented to us were a range of Margaritas and Mojitos. Starting off with Watermelon Margarita followed by the Persidente Margarita which let me tell you, is super strong but the way this blends the taste of the food is mind blowing, because this is a hand shaken Margarita made with Tequila, Cointreau and premium brandy. This is two serves people. This is among Chili’s wonderful creations, and so I can happily say, no one makes them like Chili's.

Next up,  Cosmopolitan that has Citron vodka, Cointreau and cranberry juice was indeed a very strong drink. Even though I felt this was a very strong drink, I still loved it that taste of vodka blend with cranberry juice.
For appetizers we had first ordered the Triple dipper with Paneer bites, Texas cheese poppers and Fried Paneer quesadilla bites, I loved all three of them. The Paneer bites were really good and that have wonderful crunchy with the entire flavor intact inside of the Paneer and the other ingredients, the Paneer did have a unique texture inside for which I loved it. The Texas cheese poppers are always great in Chili’s, I just love them as the cheese in the poppers tastes just yum and the way the cheese fills up the mouth is wonderful. The fried Paneer quesadilla bites very delicious and we were done with them in a jiffy. They cannot be missed. The whole platter infact is yum!
We were served the plain nachos with the Chili's in-house salsa. The Salsa dip is fresh and tangy which makes it a dip that can be had with any of the other appetizers. We tried it with the cheese poppers and Paneer bites and with my big mouth burger bites also, so no issues on that.  Personally, nachos have always been a favorite snack and whenever I get fresh salsa with it.
The plain nachos were followed by Classic nachos which was pretty awesome. This dish was made with melted cheese with jalapenos, beans and queso served with house-made pico de gallo and sour cream. This dish vanished into everyone’s tummy within a matter of minute. This dish was something more than just classic, this was more of a modern classic with all the texture and the way the whole dish was balanced was just delicious.Imagine all the sour cream and jalepenos with kidney beans on it!! Mouth Watering!!

The Big mouth burger bites was the next to hit our table. They were good, but I found them too Indianised for the restaurant. I did not like them as much as I liked the others. The big mouth burger bites is served with onion rings, fries and a jalapeno ranch dressing that was really good. The onion string and fries were crispy and the jalapeno ranch dressing was delicious.
We went on to order the BBQ grilled Paneer salad (actually known as BBQ chicken salad, which is also available with Spicy garlic and lime shrimp), because I wanted to taste their salads. The ingredients looked interesting. When it arrived it looked great and when had, even better. This was a crispy mixture of grilled Paneer, cheddar cheese, pico fe gallo, corn relish, cilantro, crispy tortilla strips and a touch of BBQ sauce served with ranch dressing.
I personally make pesto pasta most of the time and I know how it should taste. When we ordered the Cilantro pesto pasta with veggies was a blend of fresh green, cilantro, nuts and olive oil enlivened in a cream based sprinkled with pico de gallo, little did we expect that it wouldnt taste like the traditional Pesto recipe. The cilantro flavour over powered everything and the dish fell flat because of that. I am guessing it was an one off incident.
Marinara pasta with veggies was a tangy tomato based sauce with a tinge of garlic and basil. I love tomatoes but after having so much I found the pasta a bit too tangy and skipped it.
Moving on to the desserts, Chili's really need brownie points for it. The desserts were ordered twice and we literally jumped into finishing them. The Chocolate Chip Pie paradise was the first to come in. It was nice and sweet and went really well with the Vanilla Ice cream topped over it.
Molten chocolate cake topped the chocolate chip paradise pie on my dessert list. This was just yum all throughout. The master creation was devoured by us in a matter of seconds. Even though everyone had eaten enough but once this was on the table, every one of us were drooling. This is one dessert that you just can’t miss having.
