Lenovo, the world’s No. 1 PC player (as per IDC Q3 2013 tracker), today debuted the game-changing Yoga Tablet in the country. True to its name, this multi-mode machine redefines what a Tablet stands for. Based on research which suggests that the usage of gadgets over an extended time period has an impact on our physical well-being, the Yoga Tablet has been ergonomically designed to aid a longer and comfortable Tablet viewing experience.
Identifying a significant need gap in the market for a Tablet that truly adapts to the user; Lenovo and Ashton Kutcher came together to envisage and create the Yoga Tablet. Ashton’s keen sense of innovation and deep tech understanding played a key role to break the mold and design a form factor, which is easier to hold, use and view with three distinct modes:
• Hold mode allows reading an e-book for hours or checking that recipe while cooking a breeze
• Stand mode allows the Tablet to stand on a flat surface, making movie-watching a pleasure
• Tilt mode gives a better viewing angle for easier typing, playing games and surfing the Internet.
Speaking at the launch, Shailendra Katyal, Director – Consumer Business, Lenovo India said, “Technology is a part of who we are, therefore it needs to transition constantly to keep pace with our changing lifestyles. With this intent, we have re-engineered the Tablet from ground-up to offer users a better way to experience the Tablet. We are confident that the Yoga Tablet will redefine the category and set the stage for devices that are in sync with the evolving needs of the consumer.”
Key features:

1. Ergonomic design and thoughtful engineering:
• The cylinder enables Lenovo to surpass the design of a conventional Tablet and forms a perfect handle on the side to make it easier to hold with one hand, to keep it steady versus having to hold it with two hands (just like rolling up a  magazine to hold and view it with one hand)
• It also allows for a better viewing angle in Tilt mode when placed on a flat surface
• To put it in Stand mode without having to use or buy special accessories, there is a built-in flap available.
2. Longer battery life for computing on the go:
• With the Yoga Tablet one can enjoy 18 hours of battery life as Lenovo has put laptop batteries (larger than typical Tablet batteries) in the cylinder on the side of the device. The batteries offer 2X the life of a typical Tablet.
3. Weightless feel:
• Yoga Tablet’s uniquely shaped cylinder shifts the center of gravity from the center to the side
• That means in Hold mode users get a superb grip, making long duration of one-hand usage effortless
• Though it weighs almost the same as other Tablets (same screen size) its design makes it feel much lighter.
Other features:
• Equipped with Dolby® audio and front-facing speakers, offering a powerful surround sound experience
• High definition 1280 x 800 displays, a 5 MP auto focus rear camera, storage options up to 64 GB,
• The 20.3 cm model offers 3G and voice calling, which is the basic requirement for the Indian market; and the 25.4 cm model features Wi-Fi + 3G
• Optional Bluetooth keyboard for the 25.4 cm model that functions as a cover and even wakes up the Tablet when it’s removed and puts the Tablet to sleep when it’s attached
• Users can also opt for a WD100 dongle to stream video content from the Tablet wirelessly to a TV.
Further information available on
Pricing and availability:
• Available across all major retailers across the country and on, Lenovo Yoga Tablet is priced at INR 22,999/- and INR 28999 /-, for the 20.3 cm and 25.4 cm models, respectively

Start up diaries! Your Bible if you are a start up

Gagan Jain and Neeti Jain, authors cum entrepreneurs, launched their first book, The Start up Diaries”, a collection of real stories on ordinary entrepreneurs with extraordinary journey, today at Oxford Bookstore in Bangalore. The book was unveiled by Phanindra Sama, CEO, and, one of the entrepreneurs featured in ‘The Start up Diaries’. The other entrepreneurs present at the event were Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder, One97; Abhinav Sinha, Founder, EKO and Ajit Andhare, Founder Colosceum Media, who are featured in the book as well. The book also features Yo! China and The Loot Store.

‘The Start up Diaries’ is a collection of the real life experiences of six of the most successful entrepreneurs operating in India.  The journeys of these entrepreneurs have been realistically laid down in the book, where the author-couple believes ’The Start up Diaries’ will influence the thoughts of budding entrepreneurs and aspirants. Each chapter is dedicated to one entrepreneur, capturing every incident of his journey to success, including his motivating, hilarious and thought provoking moments.

Unveiling the book, Phanindra Sama, CEO, said, “’Start up Diaries’ is the story of aspiring entrepreneurs who believed in their dreams and pursued them against all odds to give birth to innovative ventures. The realistic picture it has drawn on the journeys of each entrepreneur can educate and inspire readers. I appreciate the effort put by the Jains for the approach they have taken in conveying the message across in an effort to motivate young talent to believe ‘Entrepreneurship’ can be a great career option.”

It is evident that countries that do not support entrepreneurship have slower growth rates.  India, if it needs to grow at a faster pace should give rise to more entrepreneurs.  A changed-mindset to that of risk-taking should be adopted along with the acquisition of required skill sets in their areas of expertise.

Gagan Jain, Author cum Entrepreneur, commented, “Entrepreneurship is celebrated in India today and the country is slowly emerging as a ‘hub’ for entrepreneurs.   People dream of owning a company and establishing themselves, but many are unaware of the struggle and challenges they could possibly encounter on the journey. ‘The Start up Diaries’  aims to educate readers, revealing the true experiences of six successful start-ups highlighting the hurdles faced and how they overcame them to achieve their dreams.”

Neeti Jain, Co-author, adds, “It was truly an eye-opener for us, when we started to interview the entrepreneurs and listened to their struggles, which otherwise would have been unknown.  We are grateful to them as they took time off their busy schedules to narrate their success stories, challenging times and the solutions they implemented.  We hope ‘Start-up Diaries’ will become a motivation and a ready reference guide for young aspirants.”

The book is available on facebook store, e-commerce sites and at all the leading book stores priced at Rs. 249/-.

About the book:
‘The Start up Diaries’ has covered the creators of the renowned companies like, Yo! China, Eko Financial Services, The Loot Store, Colosceum Media and One97 Communications. In each story, the authors have captured the struggles, challenges, and accomplishments; funny and significant moment of the entrepreneur’s life in such engaging way that it makes the book an interesting and effortless read.

Each story focuses on the goals and the mistakes that a person makes during his initial stages of growth. And eventually, how these mistakes teach him the lesson and succeed further. The stories depict the strong determination and will power of these entrepreneurs who despite various challenges pursued their dreams and ultimately succeeded, overcoming the odds.

The Book also throws light upon the existing ecosystem that’s prevailing in our country to help and assist entrepreneurs. In a very light manner, the authors have introduced the influence of Venture Capitalists, Mentors and organizations boosting entrepreneurship. This book doesn’t seek to glorify entrepreneurs, but presents a very realistic perspective of their hardships, mistakes and proud moments. It tries to shatter the common perception that only Ivy League or IIM qualified people can create successful new age businesses.

Rapoo BT Ultra-slim Keyboard for Android E6500- Review

Another masteriece from Rapoo's amazing range of wireless devices is the Ultra-slim Keyboard for Android which works as a wireless device for your Android tablets or Phones. It is very light in use and can be easily packed into your bag and taken around anywhere. It gives an approximate battery life of 24 hours with moderate usage! Cannot guarantee that with your android devices though.

The Keyboard packs all the necessary keys needed and never do you feel you are missing out any, which is the case for most wireless keyboards today. Infact you can hold it with both your hands and reach out to the middle of the keyboard with ease. Just like using a joystick.

Rapoo H6060 Bluetooth Headphones: Review

Last week I got a headset from Rapoo to play around. These headphones are wireless, Bluetooth headphones that can be used with you computer, iPod or mobile phones. The model that I got was the Rapoo H6060. This particular model comes in two colours- Black and White and has a Bluetooth 2.1+EDR wireless transmission protocol that supports up to 10M high-quality,stereo music enjoyment

  • Automatical switch between phone call and music
  • Built-in rechargeable lithium battery
  • Recharge by the universal mini-USB cable—even while you’re still playing; 2-hour charging,6-hour enjoyment.
The headphones are extremely light and though large in size, never do you feel that you have something over your head.

The sound quality of this particular model is pretty decent and not the extremely high quality kind that others in its range have to offer. For a price of Rs 4000+, there are a few elements missing.

Nevertheless, if you use headphones for just to listen to music and dont really concentrate on how it sounds, these are for you. It has the right thump in it and at full volume sound the best.

It sits well on your ears and is very comfortable to use, apart from being bendable in every direction. This is what I loved about them. Even though they are not foldable, you could keep them in you bag and be assured they will not break.

Choco Mania at Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme has introduced three new amazing donuts that are all chocolate delicacies only for the hard core chocolate lovers. Sink your teeth into a sweet rupture of the signature chocolate doughnut in delicious flavors – Chocolate Custard Orange Chocolate Cookie Crunch at your nearest Krispy Kreme store in Bengaluru. These three donuts have been added to the menu only for a limited period until october, after which you will miss them all.

I got this wonderful opportunity to go witness how they are made and also made a few for Krispy Kreme. THe whole experience was awesome because we got to visit their kitchens for the first time and learnt how the perfect donut is made.

The best part about the choco mania is that the donuts are made of chocolate dough and not original dough used to make the donuts. The piping hot glazed donuts and the Choco Creme filled are my personal favourites.

Along with these donuts, you have some new coffees that will be made available only until october. I am not a fan of mint with coffees r chocolate but the KK variant of a cold coffee with some mint blew me away. There is also the original cappuccino and the coffee chilli( this one is great for the rainy season).

A couple of photos for you to see what we made and did.. ;)

Hop, Skip and Jump! at Hoppipola

Bangalore has a new addition to its amazing list of restaurants! August 2nd saw the very awesome Hoppipola open here at Indiranagar and i finally got my chance to go check it out on our Independence day!

Hoppipola is part of the Mainland China group and is situated in Indiranagar right above Mainland china. A visit to the place will ensure you make it your "adda." I am telling that because the place just makes you fall in love with it. Be it the food, ambience, cost, everything is just right. It is a place for people like us. The open roof just adds to everything.

I took a tour of the place and the first thing I saw was that it was more like a lounge. You could just go and sit there relaxing all day. You can play the video games of the 90's or the tables can turn into game boards when you choose to play X&O's. Everyday there are chugging competitions and then on saturday you have weekly championships. More on it in my pictures.

The first thing I tried out was the Cheesienos. It is an improved and better version of the garlic bread but with LOADS of cheese and Jalepenos. You can ask for some sour cream and it then tastes heaven.
As I was relishing it I was given the Watermelon and Basil mojito. Mojitos being my fav, this is now my favourite of the Mojitos. the taste of watermelon is the best part.

I was offered the Teriyaki Paneer to try. I was a bit skeptical in the start. But the minute I bit it into it, I wanted more. It was just tasty! I ordered for the potato cheese burgers and Pesto pasta with Rum next and a Vodka Ginger twist.

The potato cheesburgers are something u got to try. They are not the regular burger. THey are three mini, coin sized burgers but fill up your tummy easily! Personally I am a huge addict of Pesto Pasta. I prefer pesto pasta anyday over any other sauced ones. I was even more excited here because the menu said "mixed with some RUM" how could I ignore it?? I binged into it like never before. Ok that was a bit exaggerated and you might even feel how could i like everything there... but i told you before "one vist and it'll turn into your adda". THe pasta was PERFECT! I wanted to meet the cook just like the mainland china ad and tell him this is the best food I have ever eaten!!!

I was too full to try anything more. I will go there soon though and eat more because it is super cheap! My huge bowl of pasta cost only 175! A pint of beer is 100! So do I have to give you anymore reasons to go visit it??

follow them on

Pinkberry Finally arrives in India

What do Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, David Beckham, Justin Bieber have in common? They all swear by their favourite Pinkberry flavours! And now this fresh goodness can be enjoyed in India, as Pinkberry the famous franchise of frozen yogurt restaurants headquartered in Los Angeles, and known for its fresh, pure and supremely tasty frozen yogurt and variety of toppings, launched here Adding Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai to its worldwide map, Pinkberry is entering India, making it the 19th country that feature the consummately cool and hip Pinkberry, one of the fastest growing global retail brands.

Located in the prime locale of Indiranagar in Bangalore, it is hard to miss this wonderful place.

Well we were invited to the exclusive pre launch event of Pinkberry where we got to enjoy the flavours of this amazing frozen yoghurt. Apart from frozen yoghurt pinkberry also serves smoothies, lassies and other sweet nothings.

The range of yoghurts
I went ahead and tried the Pomegranate flavour topped with Red velvet cake, some pomegranate seeds and loads of M&M's. My girlfriend decided to go by the natural favorite, the chocolate flavoured Yoghurt. Trust me the Chocolate flavour tasted just like the chocolate ice cream!

Pomegranate and Chocolate
Finished in a giffy
Then we tried the Salty Caramel and Mango Flavour. My personal favourite the next time I visit would be the Mango flavor! I can still feel the taste the minute I think about it.

Mango flavour with Kiwi and Jelly
Way back in January while I was shooting with Soha Ali Khan, she asked me if there was a frozen yoghurt outlet here. I had to reply in negative. But now I can proudly tell anyone who comes to Bangalore that we have an outlet that most other cities dont!!!.
When the children enjoy you know how much people will like it

Go there have a blast! And the yoghurt is very affordable.

Mexifornia for the stomach!

Well what happens when The California Pizza Kitchen has their Mexifornia food festival and invites you to an exclusive tasting? You walk out with your taste buds overly satisfied and stomach feeling goooood!

That is the best part of the California Pizza Kitchen Food festival. Thoroughly mexican yet the taste remains. The highlight of the whole Mexifornia food festival is that. it retains the original tastes of the pizzas even though there is a distinct mexican taste in everything. There is a special menu for the whole festival that will leave you wanting for more.

The first dish that came over to our table was a signature mexican dish the Enchilada. Being a vegetarian, I was served the Paneer Enchilada which was just yummy. Filled with tasty tangy paneer inside, cheese and various other spices, I wanted more!

After stuffing my stomach with the entire Enchilada, we were served the Baja Pizza for the vegetarians and the Meat eaters got Chicken Carnitas Pizza. The Baja Pizza was a very thin crust pizza topped with cheese, Black Beans, mushrooms, roasted golden corn and hand torn Cilantro. It truly was filling despite the thin crust.

Next in line was again a signature Mexican dish. The tacos. What made the tacos yummy was that it was served with Mexican rice that were very citrusy in taste. The tacos were topped with paneer and the yummy Chitpole Slaw. Slurrp!

Moving on, the final nail in the coffin was the epic epic dessert! it was a traditional Mexican pastry served along with the homemade Mole Mousse. And we couldnt help but ask the chef for extra servings of the mousse.

If you want to try this wonderful menu then head over to any of the California Pizza Kitchens across the city and ask for it! I am sure you wont be disappointed.
